Madeleine Jewell
M.Coun., LPC, NCC
My counseling practice is rooted in whole-person, wellness-based, and systemically-oriented care. I often work with clients in areas including ADHD, Autism, anxiety, depression, communication, boundaries, relationship to/with self, all kinds of relationships with others, grief and loss, and navigating daily life as well as life changes. I enjoy working with clients of all genders, sexualities, and identities. Currently, I see clients ages 5 and up, mainly in individual and family counseling, and in relationship/couples counseling when I have the opportunity to do so.
As a counselor, I am a fellow traveler alongside my clients, a compassionate educator and capable (co)advocate, an insightful and empathetic mirror or reflector, and a constantly curious creative. I cultivate relationships that are affirming, collaborative, and direct, and I am intentional in tailoring the counseling experience. I love getting to know my clients, holding space with and for them, and getting to be part of exploring, encouraging, and supporting their goals and desired outcomes.
I am committed to lifelong personal and professional development. Here at The Center for Creativity and Healing, I am especially excited to be expanding my skills in creative and expressive arts in counseling, experiential therapy modalities, and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT).
I earned my Masters of Counseling (M.Coun.) with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling through Idaho State University. During my Masters program, I was honored to receive and complete the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) Minority Fellowship Program in Addictions Counseling. I have also received introductory training in the MIGDAS-2, a sensory-oriented, strengths-based tool for assessing and diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder.
I obtained my Bachelors of Art in English with a focus in Linguistics, as well as a minor in Spanish through Boise State University. My previous experience also includes: Writing Center and World Language Tutoring Supervisor; Writing Consultant; Spanish 101 Language Lab Instructor.
It matters to me to show up as my genuine self, so I’ll highlight just a couple of my (many) hobbies and interests. I have 40+ houseplants, an ever-expanding TBR of books and audiobooks, and a collection of quirky socks and earrings that regularly make an appearance in-session.
